Here’s an example of an attitude towards fiction that annoys me very much. From a random Facebook post:

The implications are:
- fiction should modify people's behavior
- people should carefully study fiction and draw life lessons from it
- people who haven't read a particular book are worth shit

(Plus an interesting rhetorical device: mentioning the topic of the book while at the same time assuring the readers that she believes they know what the book is about. This is either insincere or shows some fickleness of mental processes)
