That shifting of the tone in the talks about Russian hacks in the mainstream media, when they moved from tentatively suggesting that it might be the Russians who did the hacking, to maintaining as an indisputable fact that it was the Russians who did the hacking, without the intermediary step of demonstrating how it was the Russians who did the hacking, makes me think of that famous Chomskyan phrase, "manufacturing consent".
