Interesting. This is the same Bill Maher who was obsessing, somewhere about a year ago, with the question what's gonna happen if Trump refuses to leave the office — obsessing so hard and with such an abandon that I discounted him as a victim of the Trump derangement syndrome. But now he dares to go against the "progressive" narrative, by both pointing a scared finger at China that is overtaking the US, and ridiculing the "progressive trend to sacrifice merit for equity" (at around minute five).

The Miseducation of America's Elites, by Bari Weiss. Probably the first article of hers that I am reading. Or maybe the second — I seem to remember, around the time she was kicked from the New York Times, I might have seen something by her on the topic of Jews, which I wasn't interested in. This one is good though — clearly a cultivated writing style, interesting references to the primary sources (school educational materials), thoughtful exposition.
