Pinker:

Perhaps not coincidentally, two of the wars in 2014 and 2015 were fueled by another counter-Enlightenment ideology, Russian nationalism, which drove separatist forces, backed by Vladimir Putin, to battle the government of Ukrain in two of its provinces.

It is a passing phrase, but still it's funny that he mentions Russian nationalism, but not Ukranian nationalism. Is he unaware that there was plenty of both? Does he consider only one of them to be a counter-Enlightenment ideology? Is he influenced by the narrative of the mainstream media in his assessment?
