Over the last week, the British media have introduced the term pingdemic to describe a surge in self-isolations caused by notifications by the track-and-trace app about a close contact with someone who has tested positive for coronavirus. The papers are panicking because this has significantly depleted the workforce.

Morten Morland illustrates the concept using the occasion of tomorrow's "freedom day", i.e. the day when all restrictions are promised to be lifted (albeit with numerous asterisks):
