I can't get rid of the feeling that the author, with her title, is alluding to a much more recognizable "consider the [animal]" precedent, but I can't remember what it is. Google offers only Consider the Lobster by David Foster Wallace. Is it what I am trying to remember? Dunno... I haven't read a single thing by David Foster Wallace.
