I googled for the confirmation, and found a peculiar article, to be published in the October issue of some journal. It's a letter to the editor, which ends in a clearly ideological message:
We must reconsider the way we interact with Nature. Pangolins, bats and other animals are not responsible for the epidemics or pandemics affecting humans. Blaming wildlife for zoonotic emergence may result in useless and highly damaging culling, mass slaughter and loss of biodiversity.
"...and other animals are not responsible for the epidemics or pandemics affecting humans"? Are they arguing against the whole zoonotic model of transmission or origin of infectious diseases in general? I'm not sure. I'm not sure how this conclusion follows from the main part of their article.
