It’s been pointed out multiple times over the last several days that protests in America are a fantastic epidemiological experiment.

If the number of cases surges, one might conclude that lockdown measures have been well justified.

If there is no dramatic rise in the number of cases, one might question the need for caution when easing lockdown rules, as well as justification of the prolonged lockdown itself.

I can't assess the validity of this claim (I don't know how high should a spike be to be considered significant), but it sure will be interesting to see how it all plays out.
