I’ve probably commented on this here, but I am very curious when/why pronouns used to show roles in a dialogue started to be put in the objective case:



Quite a lot of ink has been famously spilled on the topic of someone and me vs someone and I, as well as on it is me vs it is I; but I have not seen or heard discussions of the case of these these dialogue role markers.

Should take a look in some large grammar book...
