I remember how pleased I was when I started (long ago) hearing "creatives" liberally use profane language. There, I thought, was relaxation of linguistic prohibitions. A disinhibition, so to say. A more relaxed attitude towards speech codes.

It’s a bit baffling, therefore, to hear a designer-cum-coder (British-born, I believe? definitely speaking his native language), who has no compunction about saying the word "fuck" on stage, suggest "can we stop using ableist words like idiot", and express his regret about the word "lobotomized" in the phrase "lobotomized owl selector" that he used in the past:
