Listening through Lipstadt's book...

One of the manifestations of antisemitism that she lists is perpetuating ethnic stereotypes, such as avarice. Whenever I hear this statement, I recall a street comedian I once saw in a Danish town. To the amusement of the crowd, he was making rather crude, as I then thought, ethnic jokes; the ones I remember most vividly were making fun of Germans (he was drawing on the stereotype of Germans as orderly and disciplined automata of a people), but there were some other nations involved as well; the most likely suspects are British, French or Italians, but I do not really remember. Either this kind of jokes has to be banished altogether (along with caricatures — e.g. she reproaches Corbyn for defending the author of this mural, where the monopoly players, she says, are immediately recognizable as Jews), or none of them should be labeled with loaded terms.
