There’s been some noise online about a new Gillette ad campaign (haven't seen), which made me realize that I haven’t yet heard the original version of Gillette’s slogan — the one that was translated into Russian as Gilette, лучше для мужчины нет. The English version used to be Gillette, the best a man can get, which, I imagine, can have two readings: either the best a man can have, or the best a man can become (the Russians got the first version).

The new ad campaign, which has changed the slogan to the best men can be, seems to remove this ambiguity. If indeed there ever was any.
